We are excited you are sending your camper to Glisson, and look forward to seeing you and your camper very soon!

Check-In Form

Check-in Form
Download Check-in Form
Please Note:  All campers and LIT participants need to have a completed Check-In Form prior to arrival.

The Check-In Form to the right needs to be downloaded, completed and signed by the camper parent before arrival.  This form will be required for you to check into camp.  If you are not bringing your camper and another family is bringing your camper, please complete the form and send it with your camper.

Campers whose forms, payment or registration are incomplete in any way will be directed to stop by the Welcome Center to complete their registration.  Campers who have medication to check-in will be directed to stop-by the Infirmary on the way into camp to complete their registration.

Health and Safety Information

Prescription or necessary, routine medications will be dispensed by the health manager, only from the original package or prescription bottle.
Over-the-counter medications and first aid supplies will be provided for participants.  DO NOT send over-the-counter medication in your campers bag.

HEALTH CHECK:  All campers will take part in a visual/verbal health screening at check-in to ensure that they are free from indicators of illness or communicable disease or injury that may prevent them from participation at camp.  We will do a temperature check for all campers, if the camper has a temperature of 100.0F or higher, your camper will not be allowed to stay at camp.  The camper can return during the week if the temperature is 98.6 for at least 24 hours.

PARENTS WILL NEED TO TURN IN CAMPER CHECK IN FORM. CAMPERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAY AT CAMP WITHOUT A COMPLETED FORM.

Glisson provides limited, secondary accident coverage for each camper from arrival to departure.  Campers should supply any Health Insurance information online during registration.  Our secondary insurance does not cover camper illness while at camp.

HEALTH CARE:  Glisson has a well-equipped and professionally staffed health center available 24 hours each day.  Prompt attention is given in any accident or injury.  Parents are notified if the camper requires medical care off-site.

FOOD SAFETY:  Our camp kitchen facilities are inspected and fully approved by the Georgia Department of Health and Environmental Control. They hold the highest rating for food preparation, general health and safety, water supply, and sanitation.  Balanced meals are served to campers daily.  Healthy snacks are vailable to campers in the camp store.

Departure Info

For ALL full-week and two-week campers and families--Celebration begins at 4:00 pm on Friday.  Gates will open at 3:30 pm.  Parents check campers out with counselors following Celebration.  Please do not bring pets to Celebration.

For mini campers and their families--Celebration begins at 4:00 pm on Tuesday for mini camp session 1 (4:00 on Friday for mini camp session 2).  Gates will open at 3:30 pm.  Parents check campers out with counselors following Celebration.  Please do not bring pets to Celebration.  Please do not request early, late or midweek departures.  To ensure the best possible experience for campers, our small group format is reliant on keeping the “Living Group” intact all week.  Shortened stays at camp disrupt not only the experience of the departing camper, but the experiences of all campers in his/her small group.

Mailing Your Camper

Mail is very important to your camper.  Write soon, often and cheerfully.  We will encourage your camper to write at least once.  It is helpful if you send addressed, stamped envelopes with notepaper or postcards with your campers.
We discourage the sending of care packages.  If you or other relatives send care packages, PLEASE DO NOT SEND FOOD TO YOUR CAMPER. Please do not send cash or other valuables.

We rely on the postal service to receive letters for your camper.  For that reason, we cannot guarantee timely delivery of your mail, however we will do our best to see that your camper receives mail as it arrives on site.

Send postal mail to the following addresses as appropriate:
Camper's Name/Camper’s Cabin/Camper's Counselor
c/o Camp Glisson
690 Camp Glisson Road
Dahlonega GA 30533

Emailing Your Camper

You may send email to your camper through our online Parent Communicator service.  The instructions for setting up your Parent Communicator email will be given to you during check-in on Sunday and will also be emailed to you on Sunday Evening.  Your account cannot be set up until after your camper arrives at camp and is issued a cabin assignment. Parent Communicator Email and Photo Service
  • Your messages are printed out at 9:00am (any email sent after that time will be delivered the next day) and delivered with postal mail during rest time each day.  Your camper will not have access to a computer and cannot respond to email, but printed messages will be delivered to your campers.

Daily Pictures Postings

Parent Communicator also provides a service for viewing and downloading pictures.  Each day of Summer Camp, our photographers take pictures of what's going on at camp and post them online.  They are highly motivated individuals who strive to include every camper at least once during the week.  They cannot, however, guarantee a picture of every camper, every day.  The day's pictures are loaded late that night and are typically available for viewing and downloading the next morning.
