The Glisson staff understands that some gifts are made with the hope or expectation that an individual will be recognized by the naming of a building, room, or other features in honor of, or in memory of, the donor or someone else.
Any gift to Glisson, at any level, can be made in honor of, or in memory of, any individual. That same gift can also be designated for any purpose - Annual Fund, Campership Fund, Capital Campaign or any other specific use. An actual named gift implies that the gift has met the minimum giving level for a naming opportunity, and the honoree's name will be displayed somewhere at Glisson on or near the room or facility for which the gift is designated. Named gift opportunities generally begin at the $10,000 level.
Any gift at or above that level qualifies as a named gift opportunity provided that the gift will be designated for the Annual Fund or to improve any existing facility or program. Naming opportunities for gifts toward new facilities, such as our newly-constructed Dining Hall, are dictated by the overall cost of the new facility, campaign or program.
The procedures for naming gifts are governed by our Gift Acceptance Policy. If you are interested in a making named gift, or would like to receive a copy of our Gift Acceptance Policy, we would be happy to discuss that with you. Please contact Russell Davis for more information.
