Summer camp is fun!
In 2016, nearly 4,000 campers had fun with Glisson, ELI, and Grow Day Camps.
Fun is good, but it's not our top goal. We know how to have fun - our passion is forming faith in the process.
Kids first come to camp for the flashy things - zip line, the blob; they come back for our core values - radical acceptance, unconditional love, Christian community, and experiential learning.
What we do is fun, but that's not why we do it. We do it so children and youth have a chance to practice their faith together in an immersive experience of Christian community. And in 2016, nearly 4,000 campers had that experience. Praise God!
A selection of past editions of our former newsletter, Echoes from Camp, is posted below as a way to catch up on what's been happening at Glisson the past few years.
Want to stay in touch with camp? Sign Up For Mail Call, our "sorta-monthly" e-newsletter. The timeline is intentionally "sorta" because we only send one when we have news to share that we think the extended Glisson family would want to know about. Don't miss out on big news (like that time we built an incredible new Dining Hall) or chances to help make camp happen (like supporting camp by sharing that registration is open or by helping fund camperships). Sign up below – and if you're social media savvy, check us out there for more frequent visual updates (like when it snows at camp, or the waterfall is massively muddy, or a good-ol-fashioned creek hike pic).
"Our son looks forward to camp all year long. He is already asking when he will be going back. We are so appreciative of the amazing job you do with our special kids!"
