The Glisson Annual Fund gives you the opportunity to support Glisson's overall ministry, and gives Glisson staff the flexibility to use funds in the area of greatest need at any given time. Gifts to the Annual Fund can be used for a wide range of initiatives, including:
The fees paid by summer campers and retreat guests, alongside apportionment support from North Georgia United Methodist churches, meet the direct costs of Glisson operations. Your ongoing support for the Annual Fund will allow Glisson to make improvements to property and program, and to extend camperships to kids not otherwise able to attend … reducing the need to increase fees to do so.
Donors who have recently completed their pledges to our Serving Generations capital campaign are encouraged to transition their Glisson support from the campaign to the Annual Fund. Ongoing operational support is always needed to fund the various aspects of the Glisson ministry.
Several years ago, Thelma Childers had an idea. Thelma and her husband Bill had been Glisson supporters for many years, and together they pondered, "What if we had 100 people giving $100 per month to Glisson? Just imagine what we could achieve together!"
Thelma's idea eventually became known as the Circle of 100. Membership in the Circle is based on the concept of supporting the Glisson Annual Fund with the equivalent of $1,200 or more annually.
|Friends of Glisson||$1,200 - $1,924|
|The 1925 Society||$1,925 - $4,999|
|Creek Hikers||$5,000 - $9,999|
|Mountain Climbers||$10,000 and above|
|Camper Circle||$100 - $299|
|Counselor Circle||$300 - $699|
|Staff Circle||$700 - $1,199|
With a pledge of $1,600 to the Annual Fund, you will sponsor a specific counselor for this summer. This gift will underwrite the summer stipend for the counselor you will be sponsoring, and giving at this level will qualify you for membership in the Circle of 100.
In return for your sponsorship, you will receive:
Gifts of any size can help to sponsor a counselor. Just indicate "sponsor a counselor" in the memo line of your check, or in the comment section of your on-line gift, and your gift will be combined with others to support our dedicated summer staff.
Giving groups, such as youth groups, Sunday school classes, alumni groups and civic organizations, are encouraged to combine resources and sponsor a counselor together as a team pledge. Individuals may also consider approaching civic groups, churches and foundations as partners in their sponsorship.
A living group includes 12 campers and two counselors. You can sponsor an entire living group this summer with a pledge to the Annual Fund in the amount of $5,100. This amount covers the cost of one week of camp for all 12 campers in the Living Group, and the weekly stipend for the two counselors in that group.
Giving at this level will qualify you at the Creek Hikers level in the Circle of 100. Sponsorship includes an invitation from the Camp Director to visit camp during the summer season. During your visit, you will:
You will receive a thank-you plaque with a picture of your Glisson living group.

Another way to support Glisson's annual operations is through gifts to the Glisson Campership Fund. The Sponsor-a-Camper program involves campership gifts of $510 which covers the base cost of sending one camper to summer camp.
Gifts of any size can help sponsor a camper. Just indicate "sponsor a camper" in the memo line of your check, or in the comment section of your on-line gift, and your gift to the Campership Fund will be combined with others to help make summer camp more affordable for children and youth whose families may be experiencing financial difficulties.
